I have advocated for a fireworks ban in the District.

While my efforts have not led to a majority vote in Council banning fireworks in the District, I continue to believe that a majority of District residents favour a ban on fireworks for reasons of safety, environmental protection, and public health. Excessive fireworks have made our community unlivable at Halloween.

I will seek to have the issue of fireworks placed on the ballot as a referenda question for the 2026 election.
