Colorful fireworks exploding against a dark night sky.

I have consistently advocated for stronger restrictions on consumer fireworks in the District of North Vancouver because of their effects on public safety, animals, wildlife, the environment, and residents affected by excessive noise.

In May 2026, I brought forward a motion asking Council to place a non-binding question on consumer fireworks on the October 17, 2026 election ballot. Council did not support the motion.

Although residents will not be asked the question on the 2026 ballot, I will continue to advocate for responsible fireworks regulations and for the residents who have asked Council to address this issue.
