District of North Vancouver

Councillor Jim Hanson has served on District of North Vancouver Council since 2014 and was re-elected in 2018 and 2022.

He brings extensive legal, community, and municipal experience to his work on behalf of District residents.

Jim is a North Vancouver lawyer with law degrees from the University of British Columbia and Oxford University. He has practised litigation law in British Columbia since 1985.

Before being elected to Council, Jim held leadership positions in his community and legal profession, including with the Blueridge Community Association, the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia, and the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch.

Since joining Council, Jim has advocated for responsible development, affordable taxation, improved transportation, environmental protection, and greater accountability in local government.
